Our Walk with Albie hike will take you on a rewarding 12‑kilometre circular route through the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside.
This is a self‑led walk along a marked route, supported by our wonderful volunteers and with checkpoints along the way. You’ll be able to download the route in advance, and printed map handouts will also be available on the day for anyone who prefers them.
Sunday 10 May 2026
Registration & What’s Included
The £20 registration fee includes:
Route
We’ll begin with a gentle drop into the picturesque village of Ripponden. From there, we’ll make our way up the valley towards Ryburn Reservoir, following a scenic path that climbs up to and loops around Baitings Reservoir. The route then brings us back through Rishworth, finishing where we started at The Fleece — with an optional post‑walk pint waiting for anyone who fancies it.
Children
Due to the challenging nature of the 12‑kilometre route, this event is recommended for adults and older teenagers who are confident walking longer distances on uneven terrain. If you’re unsure whether the walk is suitable for a younger participant, please feel free to contact us for guidance.
Photography & Media
Photos, videos and quotes from the event may be used in our future promotional materials. If you prefer not to be included, please let us know ahead of the event or on the day.
Dogs
Dogs are very welcome, but please ensure they are kept on a lead at all times.
Fundraising
We ask all participants to raise a minimum of £100 in sponsorship to support our work. You can set up your fundraising page here:
